Polygon Spa Acquires HCE

Milan, March 2025 – Polygon Group (owned by HIG Capital), a European leader in integrated management and maintenance of biomedical equipment with over €160 million in revenue and 800 employees, strengthens its position in the imaging diagnostics segment by acquiring a majority stake in HCE Healthcare Consulting & Engineering, based in Mercato San Severino (SA) (www.hcesrl.it). Led by Marco Melfi, HCE is today one of the most prominent independent Italian companies in high-tech equipment maintenance.

The acquisition represents a further step in Polygon Group’s growth strategy aimed at continuously enhancing technical skills and capabilities. With HCE’s contribution, Polygon Group expands the range of high-tech equipment on which it can offer highly qualified maintenance services, adds new services to its portfolio, and strengthens territorial coverage, all to the benefit of service quality, providing tangible advantages to healthcare facilities, hospitals, clinics, and independent service providers.

Angelo Maresca, CEO of Polygon, explains: “We are very pleased with this acquisition, which represents another step toward strengthening our imaging diagnostics department. Thanks to the integration of the two companies, both Polygon and HCE will be able to provide their clients with better service: more widespread and with a broader spectrum of expertise. This acquisition will create new growth opportunities for everyone and further consolidate our leadership in the sector.”

This integration will also bring social benefits to the South of Italy. The company’s goal is now to establish “a center of expertise in high-tech imaging diagnostics maintenance,” as revealed by Marco Melfi. “With Polygon’s support, we intend to create a true ‘Academy’ in Campania to train young talent, strengthening the already established relationships with universities and technical institutes both locally and nationally.”
The project will be initiated as soon as possible, assures Angelo Maresca: “We have great respect for the quality of HCE’s management and staff. In the coming months, we will work closely together to integrate activities, keeping people at the center, as they are the true engine of success. Training young professionals is a tool for Polygon Group to find motivated and skilled personnel, while also giving back to society and the regions that host us, helping young people find their place in the workforce.”
